Backstage At Badminton 2003: Triumph Over Adversity
is currently airing nationally on HorseTV. The 36-minute program
documents the triumphs and major disappointments of the 2003 Mitsubishi
Motors Badminton Horse Trials; described by its principal organizer
as being the driest and wettest (event) all put together.
The program includes a retrospective evaluation of the 2003 cross-country
course by Hugh Thomas, Director (and course designer) of the Badminton
Horse Trials.
The
presentation also includes interviews with FEI Technical Delegate
Roger Haller (USA); journalist Lynne Hutchinson (Bristol Evening
Post); Badminton Press Officer Julian Seaman, author John Lloyd
and representatives of this years designated charity, The
British Red Cross.
Topics of particular interest to eventing enthusiasts include a
review of the challenges faced by organizers of the 2003 Badminton
event and the likely impact of the new Olympic eventing format.
Candid comments from 2002 and 2003 Badminton Champion Pippa Funnell
round out the informative and entertaining program.
