"LAMINITIS & CUSHING'S SUPPORT"

At Christmas 1999, Oscar my horse of 11 years was diagnosed with early Cushing’s Syndrome. Following investigations into the subject I realised that there was a great lack of support for owners of such horses – and so the “Laminitis & Cushing’s Support Group” was founded. My aim was to develop a network of owners of Cushingoid and Laminitic horses (which Oscar also is) and to provide them with help, advice and much needed support. One of the most important things to me was to give owners access to the very latest research (conventional AND alternative) into both conditions and to provide them with an accurate and above all positive approach – something significantly lacking.

Owners of newly diagnosed much loved horses often experience feelings of isolation and despair. The Laminitis & Cushing's Support group aims to help those owners come to terms with both diseases and improve the lives of their horses.

The organization also publishes 2 very useful guides; the "Laminitis & Cushing's support booklet" and the "Cushing's Pack" specifically for owners of Cushingoid horses & ponies.
