Top equine show jumping star to visit Haydock store

Virtual Village Welham, the show jumping star ridden by John Whitaker, will visit Robinsons Country Leisure's retail store at Haydock, on Sunday 28th October 2001. From 11.00am until 2.00pm fans of Welham will be able to visit him in a marquee set up at the rear of the store. Welham retired at the Hickstead meeting in August where he was presented with the first ever Elite Award. His retirement followed a long and distinguished career. Amongst the many highlights was to be a British team member at the Atlanta Olympic Games, in the Bronze medal team at the European Championships in 1997, winning the King George V Gold Cup in 1997. Last year, at the unbelievable age of 20, Welham won the prestigious Peugeot Derby.

Proud owner Keeley Durham, who now hopes to enjoy riding Welham herself, will accompany Welham to Robinsons retail store, which is situated just six furlongs from Haydock racecourse. Don't miss this wonderful occasion with the chance to see one of Britain's top equine stars and then take the opportunity to indulge in some therapeutic retail equine therapy.
