EQUESTRIAN ANNOUNCES NEW START TIME FOR USOC HEARING |
USA Equestrian (formerly
AHSA) announced today that the United States
Olympic Committee (USOC) has given notice that the formal, public hearing
on
the National Governing Body (NGB) status will begin at 7:30 a.m. (Central
Time) on Saturday, October 13, 2001, in Austin, Texas.
The hearing was previously
scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. local time
(Central Time) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas. The hotel is
located at 98 San Jacinto Boulevard, and the hearing will continue through
Monday, October 15, 2001. It is required by law to be open to the public.
Members of the public and media who wish to attend are not required to
make
any formal or advance reservation or arrangements.
USA Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of
the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship
sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping,
and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian
competition. As the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation
has over 77,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions nationwide
each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including educating
and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who officiate
at these shows.
