USET Announces Show Jumping
Team For CSIO Toronto
Gladstone, New Jersey
-October 3, 2001- The United States Equestrian Team
(USET) has announced the squad of show jumping riders that will compete
at
CSIO Toronto, at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, Canada,
November 5- 10.
Named to the USET team are 2000 Sydney Olympic teammates Margie
Goldstein-Engle of West Palm Beach, FL on Hidden Creek's Perin, owned
by
Hidden Creek Farm, and Laura Kraut of Oconomowoc, WI on Anthem, owned
by
Summit Syndicates; along with Beezie Patton Madden of Cazenovia, NY riding
Judgement, owned by Iron Springs Farm, and McLain Ward of Brewster NY,
riding Viktor, owned by Full Cry Farm.
All four of these riders were also selected to compete as the team at
CSIO
Washington at the Washington International Horse Show, October 23-28.
Todd Minikus of Loxahatchee, FL riding his own horse, Oh Star, is the
first
alternate for Toronto while Kimberly Frey of Upperville, VA riding Conawara,
owned by Overlook Farm, is second alternate.
Frank Chapot will serve at Chef d'Equipe.
Engle and Madden recently competed on the USET's highly successful CSIO
Spruce Meadows' team in Calgary, Canada, September 5 -9, where they placed
second in the Nations Cup behind Ireland.
Riders for CSIO Washington were selected according to Selection Procedures
for CSIO/CSI competitions with riders being chosen according to their
ranking on the September 28th USET Computer List.
The United States Equestrian Team is

of the highest possible standard to represent our country in major international
competition, including the Olympic Games and the World Championships.
