The
Negara Ku was played at the Stadium Putra after the very first
class of the show.
Syed Mohsin (MAS) and Lentini were the first to win a class
at the Kuala Lumpur Grand Prix. They were cleanest in the
Ranhill International Team Trophy Qualifier to qualify first
for Sunday's Ranhill Team Trophy Final. They were the only
pair to leave all the fences up and although they finished
the round in 65.32 secs with one time penalty, it was enough
to win the class.
Qabil Ambak (MAS) and Red Cloud raced around the course in
the fastest time of 55.06 secs, but had 4 faults at Fence
10b. They had to be content with 2nd place to Syed Mohsin
and Lentini.
Third to qualify for Sunday's final was young Lea Tan (MAS)
and Copyright. They too had 4 faults and were just behind
Qabil's time, finishing in 56.59 secs.
Indonesia's Budi Tulodoand Dark Mellow finished 4th, on 4
faults with 57.59 secs. Thailand's Lalitya Rangsit and Whoopi
placed 5th with 4 faults and a time of 58.09 secs.
Malaysia's Quzier Ambak and Calano could only manage 6th place
with a slow 60.39 second round, again with 4 faults. South
East Asian World Cup League leader Helena Gabrielsson gave
Kentucky a schooling round. They were 7th with 4 faults in
62.26 secs.
Chinese rider Li Zhenqiang had only two days to get used to
Eric Koh's Hamlet. They didn't do all that badly, placing
8th with 10 faults.
