To Host North American Young Rider Reining Championship

The
National Reining Horse Association will host the first ever FEI
North American Young Rider Reining Championship following the
NRHA Derby in Oklahoma City, OK, on May 23, 2004. Competing nations
will include Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The
Young Rider competition is an important element in the development
of international equestrian sport. Many of the worlds top
equestrians began their international careers at the North American
Young Riders competition, established in 1974.
Qualification
dates are from January 1, 2004 to April 30, 2004. Selection criteria
for riders is available by contacting Adelynn Haggard, Sport Manager,
Reining, at USA Equestrian, 859-225-6966 or via email at ahaggard@equestrian.org.
Competitions interested in being a host competition to qualify
riders should contact Christina Stewart, Executive Assistant at
the NRHA Office at 405-946-7400.
