WIN TICKETS TO WARWICK RACES AT THE DISCOVER RACING ROADSHOW, at THE BRITISH EQUINE EVENT!

The award winning Discover Racing Roadshow will be at the British Equine Event, (Stoneleigh Park, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 November 2001), for the next leg of its extensive UK tour. The British Equine Event is the ultimate event for everyone with an interest in horses and ponies. Visitors to this equestrian extravaganza who are interested in horseracing, should head for the Discover Racing Roadshow - a high tech, high spec interactive mobile exhibition unit, packed full of useful information on horseracing and betting. There is also the opportunity for visitors to the Roadshow to win tickets to the races at Warwick!

If you have ever wanted to spend a day at the races or if you would like to know more about how racing and betting works, the Roadshow offers the complete racing experience. Would-be punters will be able to learn about racing and betting terminology, watch 3D horses thunder past, take virtual helicopter rides over any racecourse in the UK, locate their nearest racecourse, and watch the greatest racehorses of all time. Visitors will also have the chance to log on to www.discover-racing.com - the first centralised information and ticket booking service in British sport. There are a host of other attractions to enjoy at the British Equine Event. Visitors will have the chance to rub shoulders with the stars of the equestrian world, browse the 300 specialist trade stands and watch demonstrations in the main arena.

The Roadshow is just one of the elements in the Discover Racing marketing campaign, launched earlier this year. Snooker legend and television personality, John Parrott, one of Discover Racing's celebrity ambassadors has said, "The Roadshow is a great way of learning more about racing. The more you know about racing before you go, the more you will enjoy your day".

The Discover Racing Roadshow comes to Stoneleigh Park prior to the Discover Racing Day at Warwick racecourse on Saturday 1 December 2001. This day is another part of the 'Discover Racing' campaign to promote British horseracing - it promises to be a great occasion to go to the races in a group from work or with your family. As well as some great jump racing, other entertainment will include an Irish folk band plus trade stands for those wanting to do some Christmas shopping. To take advantage of Discover Racing's '2 for 1' offer into the Tattersalls Enclosure, log onto www.discover-racing.com (before 25 November 2001), or call the Discover Racing Ticket Information Line on 08700 721 724.

The Discover Racing Roadshow

"All Aboard!....."
On entering the vehicle, visitors are greeted with a high-tech, depth and perspective 3D image of racing. This is the world's first mobile 3D-polarisation image, initially developed for British Aerospace for use in their flight simulators, and comes complete with sound track of galloping horse and crowd noise. The visitor is then invited to move throughout the vehicle to see different exhibits.

....Discover Horseracing
This gives visitors an insight in to the world of horseracing, and includes features such as a typical day in the life of a jockey, the racehorses and careers in horseracing. Actual samples of equipment a jockey uses are available to touch and feel, including the saddle used by John Reid to win the Derby on Dr Devious.

....Discover Racecourses
A computer-generated animation on a 50" plasma screen shows all 59 racecourses marked on a map of Great Britain. Details of racecourses can be selected and printed out, allowing visitors to take away the information and plan their future trips to the racecourses.

....Discover Betting
The different methods of betting are displayed on a 42" plasma screen, which has an animated story showing the many ways to bet, including on-course, off-course, telephone, and internet betting. The display is complemented by a ceiling mounted television showing live footage of horseracing, and details about how to read a race card and study the form.

....Discover Racing
Having walked through the betting and racing areas, the final experience comes in the form of a virtual Race of Champions. Visitors are able to choose a horse to bet on and will then see the race unfold in the Roadshow's own cinema with its 50" plasma screen.

....Discover The Racing Dream Team
A dedicated team of consultants who have been specially recruited because of their racing and betting background will staff the Discover Racing Roadshow.
