FEI CHILDREN'S
INTERNATIONAL JUMPING COMPETITION WORLD FINAL SCHEDULED
|
Stadium Jumping, Inc.
will host the FEI Children's International Jumping
Competition World Final November 28-December 2, 2001 at the Palm Beach
Polo
Equestrian Club in Wellington, Florida.
Thirty-two riders
(16 from the host country and 16 from around the world)
are invited to participate in the Final, representing the top finishers
among more than 550 children competing at 41 qualifiers held worldwide
this
year. Riders are eligible to compete internationally as children from
the
beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 12 until
the
end of the calendar year in which they turn 14.
This special competition
began in 1995 to increase opportunities for
children to participate internationally and gain experience over courses
of
international standard. Foreign riders compete on borrowed horses provided
by the host country's riders and the organizing committee. At last year's
Final, held in Santiago, Chile, the USA's Ariella Hertz, of Irvine, CA
finished 7th in the world and was the highest-placed rider in FEI Group
IV.
