Downs Horse Trials Final Results |
Galway
Downs also hosted several Horse Trials divisions in conjunction
with its CCI* and CCI** Three Day Event. In the Training Horse Division,
Bea diGrazia finished with her dressage score of 28.50 aboard Pavoratti.
Time proved to be a significant factor when only four of the seventeen
entries made it around the cross country course with no time penalties.
Seven horses, including diGrazia's made it around the stadium course
with no rails or stops. Second was Samantha Wagner and Irish Blue
with a final score of 40.50.
At
the end of the Junior Training Division Amanda Volk and Tory Smith
were tied for first with 31.50 points. However, Volk was closest
to the optimum time in the cross country phase so she led the victory
gallop. Volk piloted Lord Spencer to the win. Smith rode Respected
Glory. Third by only 1.5 points was Adrienne Hillas on Turbonium.
Sixteen junior riders competed and they all finished.
Ten
Senior Training riders took the challenge and the contest for first
was close. Lori Duffant assumed the lead after dressage with her
Uncle Buck. They carried a score of 32.50. They added only .8 penalties
for exceeding the time in the cross country phase for a final score
of 33.30. Cathy Connolly and Spook amassed a score of 34.50 in their
dressage test and carried it to finish in a close second. Bari Boersma
wrapped up third with a score of 36.50 aboard California Dreamin'.
