World Equestrian Games Videos Now Available

Gladstone, NJ—November 28, 2002—The United States Equestrian Team is pleased to announce that five event videos from the 2002 World Equestrian Games are now available for sale on the USET website at www.uset.org. The following are available: eventing, show jumping, driving, dressage individual and dressage team.

The videos, made available in this country by HorseTV (www.horse-tv.com), recount the USET’s history-making performance at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. U.S. riders, drivers and vaulters won a total of eight medals, doubling the U.S.’s best previous performance.

The USET eventing squad made history at the World Equestrian Games by winning the team Gold Medal and emerging as World Champions for the first time since 1974. Individually, three U.S. riders placed in the top 10 – John Williams (4th), Kim Vinoski (6th) and David O’Connor (10th).

The U.S. dressage squad captured the team Silver Medal, the best finish ever for a United States dressage team in any World Championship or Olympic Games. Individually, U.S. dressage riders also turned in this country’s best performance in history. Debbie McDonald and Brentina finished fourth with Lisa Wilcox, riding Relevant, right behind in fifth place. Never before has the U.S. placed two riders in the top five in a dressage World Championship. The Four-In-Hand team also made history in Spain winning the team Silver Medal. While the show jumping squad just missed a team medal coming in sixth place, Peter Wylde did win the individual Bronze Medal.

Each video is available from the USET for $29.95 with a handling charge of $4 for one tape and $1 additional for each additional tape. A portion of the proceeds from each video will go to benefit programs of the United States Equestrian Team.

To order videos on the internet, please visit the USET website at www.uset.org and click on the “Order Your WEG Videos Here” link and follow the directions.
