Kurten Wins Ladies German Masters
|
CONFIRMING
that she's back in fighting form, Ireland's Jessica Kurten tonight
won the prestigious Ladies German Masters Competition at Stuttgart,
and collected the top prize of 5000 Euro.
Though
not shining in previous competitions at this international winter
venue, Co. Antrim-born Kurten brought out her nine year-old Danish-bred
bay mare <Quibell> for tonight's big class, and led from very
early on in the battle.
A
member of the victorious Irish Senior team that won the European
Championships in 2001, Kurten saw off competition from such notables
as the USA's Beezie Madden, Sweden's Malin Baryard and Germany's
Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum to clinch the Ladies Masters in front
of a capacity crowd.
