Smith Scores Hat Trick At Belfast
|
BRITAIN'S
Robert Smith clocked up his third win in two days at Belfast's new
international horse show tonight (Friday), with the nine yr-old
stallion <Marius Claudius>, and collected the top prize of
5000 euro in the 1m50 jump-off class.
But
Ireland's Marion Hughes made a valiant attempt to catch the Englishman
with another stallion, Miguel Bravo's <Heritage Fortunus>,
but had to settle for second place with just under two seconds of
a gap.
Clem
McMahon, second-last to jump, slotted into third with yet another
stallion, the Irish-bred Clover Hill offspring <Gelvin Clover>.
Ireland's
Conor Swail also finished in the Top Ten, on the 15 yr old veteran
gelding <Windgate's King Koal>, taking sixth place after having
a pole down in the second round, but collecting 600 euro in prize
money.
