Horses and Ponies on Show

Rescued
horses and ponies of all shapes and sizes will be given the opportunity
to show off their new skills at the The Ultimate Equine Experience
at the Royal Highland Exhibition Centre, Ingliston, at the beginning
of December.
On
Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December horses and ponies out on loan
from the ILPH (International League for the Protection of Horses)
will be going through their paces in the main arena to show their
versatility.
Ponies
such as ILPH Caper who was rescued from Northern Ireland and who
is now out on loan as a driving pony and Bracken a Highland pony
who came into ILPH Belwade Farm in Aboyne crippled by an extremely
bad crack in his hoof who, shortly after arriving, went down with
Grass Sickness. ILPH Aurora Borealis (or Rory for short) who came
to the ILPH as a 3 year old with no coordination who kept falling
over. He is now a vaulting horse for the Scottish Vaulting Team.
They will be joined by ILPH Hamilton and ILPH Glespin who now work
the beat with the Strathclyde Mounted Police and ILPH Mac and Baron,
ex of Fairways Horse Sanctuary in Perthshire, who are now with Glasgow
City Council and ILPH Juno the rescued pony who features on the
Christmas raffle tickets.
At
11.30 am on both days Suzie Mennie, Head Girl at ILPH Belwade Farm
will pipe the horses and ponies into the arena.
The
ILPH Shows Promotion Unit will be at the Event where everybody may
do some Christmas shopping, sign the Say NO to Live Exports campaign
petition or find out all about the worldwide welfare work that the
League does.
