Cooking
up a Way to Raise Money for Horses
|
A
Norfolk couple were so touched by the plight of tens of thousands
of horses transported annually across Europe for slaughter for human
consumption, that they decided to do something to help.
Mr
and Mrs Bonning of Beachamwell Hall, in North West Norfolk, will
be holding a Fundraising Dinner on Friday 12 December with all the
proceeds going to the ILPH (International League for the Protection
of Horses) European Transportation Campaign.
Sir
Michael Oswald KCVO will be talking at the dinner about the work
of the ILPH. He has also very kindly arranged a guided tour for
4 people of the Royal Stud at Sandringham, by kind permission of
HM the Queen, which will be auctioned during the evening.
Comments
Mel Edwards, ILPH Support and Liaison Officer, "We are very
grateful to Mr & Mrs Bonning for offering their home in this
way as we are to Sir Michael for arranging the Royal Stud visit,
as it is not normally open to the public.
"The
ILPH relies entirely on voluntary income and it is only through
the generosity of our supporters that we are able to continue our
work, both here and abroad.
"I'm
sure that the evening will be hugely enjoyable, while raising much
needed funds for one of our most important campaigns."
Tickets
for the 4 course dinner, which includes wine, are £30. More
details from Mel Edwards at the ILPH on 0870 366 6953.
