Olympia International Show Jumping Championships has given two young British riders a last minute invitation to the show, one of Europes biggest show jumping events and this year celebrating its 30th anniversary. The invitations came about with the withdrawal of Swiss international, Willi Melliger who is sidelined due to injury. The riders, Corrine Collins (22) from Crewe, Cheshire and Richard Davenport (21) from Knutsford, Cheshire have been invited to bring one horse each to compete at the show which runs from Wednesday, 19th December to Sunday 23rd December. This year Olympia is offering over £232,000 in prize money and will be playing host to a galaxy of international show jumping stars. Christopher Hall, Chairman of the Olympia Show Committee, said The committee is delighted to be able to give this opportunity to two young British riders. In addition to the world-class show jumping that includes the only British qualifier for the prestigious World Cup, the packed programme includes everything from Pedigree Dog Agility to whip-cracking Cossacks from the Ukraine, Westphalian stallions from Germany, family favourites the Osborne Refrigerators Shetland Pony Grand National and the horseless horsemen Jez Avery and Matthieu Nassif. There will be ten performances at Olympia from Wednesday 19th December Sunday 23rd December.
