USA Equestrian Announces Winners Of Media Awards

USA Equestrian is pleased to announce the winners of the ninth annual Media
Awards. The winners will be formally presented with their awards at the
2002 USA Equestrian Annual Meeting, Hilton Charlotte & Towers, Charlotte,
NC, January 9-13, 2002.

Established in 1993 as part of the "Making Strides for Equestrian Sports"
campaign, the USA Equestrian Media Awards are designed to acknowledge and
encourage outstanding efforts by the media to promote understanding and
appreciation of equestrian sports in the United States. The winner of the
Daniel P. Lenehan Trophy award for Overall Excellence is The American
Quarter Horse Journal. Other winners of the 2001 USA Equestrian Media
Awards are:

* Equestrian Print Media - Publication: The American Quarter
Horse Journal
* Equestrian Print Media - Single Article: "Leap Into
History" - Gayle Gerlach Stewart
* Non-Equestrian Print Media: "Olympians Provide Thrill to

USA Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian competition. As the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation has over 77,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who officiate at these shows.
