WORLD JUMPING RIDERS RANKINGS: Top Ten announced
After
four important events in Germany last November (Hannover, Berlin,
Stuttgart and Munich), the German riders have consolidate their
position in the Top ten of the World Riders Rankings supported
by the Italian fabrics designer Gandini.
Ludger
Beerbaum (GER) is still in the lead with a total of 3495 points,
896 points ahead of his runner-up Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA). Beerbaum
won the Grand Prix in Stuttgart two weeks ago, and placed 2nd
in the World Cup in Berlin and 2nd in the Grand Prix in Hannover.
Thanks
to his good results in Verona, Berlin and Stuttgart, Toni Hassmann
earned 225 points in November and enters the Top Ten. He is now
9th.
This edition of the rankings decides on the participation field
of the Final of the Top Ten to be held in Geneva on 14 December
evening.
Five
nationalities will be represented at the Top Ten Final. Further
to the retirement of Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE), Leslie Howard
will be the only lady and overseas rider in the Top Ten Final.
The participating field is confirmed as followed:

reserve is Olympic champion Jeroen Dubbeldam (NED).
The
Top Ten Final, open to the best 10 riders of the FEI/Gandini World
Jumping Rankings will take place on Saturday 14 December 2002
at 21:00 in Geneva (SUI). The Final will be held over two rounds,
without jump-off. The riders may choose if they want to ride the
same or a different horse in the two rounds. The starting order
will be from the Top 10 to Top 1 of the World Rankings in the
first round, and reverse order of the first round's results in
the second round. The Final
classification will be obtained by adding the penalty points of
the two rounds. The time of the second round will be taken into
account in case of a tie.
The
course will be designed by Rolf Lüdi and Heiner Fischer (SUI).
Supported
by Rolex, the FEI/Gandini Top Ten Final will have a total of 150.000
Swiss francs prize money (36.000 and a Rolex watch to the winner).
Geneva CSI-W was awarded the 1st place in the rankings of the
best 2001-2002 Indoor shows. These rankings are established each
year by the riders themselves for l'Année Hippique. Geneva
placed before Göteborg (SWE) and Stuttgart (GER), while Aachen
(GER) and Calgary (CAN) were designated as the two best Outdoor
shows.

the first time, Geneva will host a leg of the Driving World Cup
on Sunday 15 December at 12:00. More information on the FEI Driving

FEI /BCM WORLD RIDERS RANKINGS
Ulla Salzgeber still leads the rankings / Ingrid Klimke enters
the Top Ten
Ulla
Salzgeber (GER) leads the rankings with 79.856 points ahead of
Nadine Capellmann (GER) with 78.750 pts and Lisa Wilcox (USA)
with 78.208 pts.
Ingrid Klimke (GER) enters the Top Ten with an incredible jump
from 16th to 7th place. The performances of the couple she forms
with her 12 years old BWP gelding Nector vh Carelshof has greatly
improved over the last weeks. She finished 1st in the Grand Prix
and Kür in Berlin and Stuttgart (with a record score of 79.40
in the Kür of Stuttgart), and 2nd in the Grand Prix and Kür
of Hannover. She is second of the standings of World Cup standings
of the Western European League, behind Jan Brink (SWE).
