Rural Affairs Minister to address 2003 National Equine
Forum
The Rt Hon Alun Michael MP Minister for Rural Affairs DEFRA will join
a prestigious programme of speakers at the annual National Equine
Forum to be held on Thursday 27th March 2003.
Renowned
for its thought-provoking perspectives on a wide range of veterinary
and general equestrian matters, the National Equine Forum is the
only independent conference for the horse world in the UK. It was
founded in 1993 to provide an annual opportunity for communication
in both directions between the grass roots administration of the
horse world and those that influence decision making in government,
industry and research in relation to horses and ponies.
This
year the Forum, which is supported by BETA, BEF, BHS, Dodson &
Horrell, The Donkey Sanctuary, The Home of Rest for Horses, ILPH
and Merial and chaired by Professor Sir Colin Spedding CBE, will
include a presentation from The Rt Hon Alun Michael MP Minister
for Rural Affairs DEFRA on a government overview and aspirations
for the new Official for the Horse Graham Cory; care,
use and disposal of the ageing horse by Derek Knottenbelt, Head
of the Large Animal Teaching Hospital, University of Liverpool;
the National Equine Database by R H Graham Suggett OBE DL, Consultant
Director of Breeding, BEF and future marketing and promotion strategies
in the equestrian industry by Diana Rhodes, Chief Executive of Blue
Zebra PR. The Forum will also include a presentation from the winner
of the Eqvalan Equine Thesis of the Year and the chance for forthright
discussion on a number of topical issues.
Tickets
to the National Equine Forum are by invitation only if you
are one of the lucky invitees the Forum would be grateful if you
could respond promptly to secure your place at this highly regarded
event.
