HorseCity.com Teams Up with HITS as Presenting Sponsor for $75,000 Bayer/USET Grand Prix at Indio

INDIO, CA (January 23, 2001)-Horse Shows In The Sun has announced that HorseCity.com is the presenting sponsor for the $75,000 Bayer/USET Benefit Grand Prix at the Indio Desert Circuit in California on February 11, 2001. HorseCity.com is a website that offers in-depth horse news and information from Morris Communications Corporation magazines and other affiliates. More than 80 team members from Morris Digital Works are involved in this web effort, and two full time Content Directors lead over 100 freelance journalists covering the nation's biggest horse events. Based in Augusta, Georgia, Morris has been involved in the horse industry for over 50 years and launched HorseCity.com in December 1997.

Tom Struzzieri, owner and president of HITS, is pleased to unite HITS with HorseCity.com because of the depths of electronic communications the company offers. "Through HorseCity.com we have the opportunity to expose the hunter/jumper world to the vast community of on-line technological advances such as their HorseTV.net where you will be able to watch horse events right on your own PC, and HorseAds.com that provides a marketplace for buying and selling horses. Through their affiliations with a huge network of retailers, HorseCity.com enables our customers to shop for horse related products on-line too. HorseCity.com also offers complete web site design and hosting services that many of the HITS customers need in order to become part of the Internet. HorseCity.com has really covered all the bases."

HorseCity.com will have a custom jump in the Grand Prix Field at Indio all of Week III for use by Course Designer Dave Ballard from Ontario, Canada. The $75,000 Bayer/USET Grand Prix presented by Horse.City.com will be recorded by Winner Productions for a later telecast on ESPN2.

"The number one goal of HorseCity.com is to create an on-line community that bridges the gap between English and Western riders," explains HorseCity.com General Manager Ryan Dohrn. "This is a website for all horse people. We have aligned ourselves with the biggest and best companies and people in the horse world. We're very excited about our partnership with HITS."

Anne Brown-Moss, an A-Circuit competitor with more than 30 years of horse experience, is the HorseCity.com English Content Director. One of the features she has introduced is the Training Tips section that allows horse enthusiasts to learn from the best. Jeffery Welles, a Grand Prix show jumping star who competes regularly at HITS shows on the East Coast, is currently providing multi-media training tips on HorseCity.com.

"The horse world on-line is a small niche in which only sites that serve the horse world well will maintain their presence, " says Dohrn. "HorseCity.com serves the horse world very well."

HITS is the largest producer of hunter/jumper horse shows in the U.S. operating six show grounds nationwide¾the Indio Desert Circuit in California; Ocala Winter Circuit in Florida; Arizona Winter Circuit in Tucson; HITS Culpeper in Virginia; HITS Catskills in New York; and HITS Tahoe in Nevada.
