WELLINGTON'S HOLLY HAYES VIES FOR 5TH CONSECUTIVE
CIRCUIT CHAMPIONSHIP
WELLINGTON, FL - February 14, 2001 - Holly Hayes,
of Wellington, FL, is in contention for her fifth Circuit Championship aboard a
stable full of hunters here at the 2001 Cosequin Winter Equestrian Festival.
Hayes, 25, partnered with the chestnut gelding, REGALL, placed second out of a
total of 16 in today's Regular Conformation Hunters. "Today we showed in
the Grand Prix field. He was awesome. He was wonderful," says Hayes, who
comes from a family of Hunter Riders. Originally from Chatanooga, TN, Hayes has
been riding since she was 2 years old. Now riding for Leo Conroy Stables of
Coltsneck, NJ and Wellington, FL, Hayes and her mount, OVERDRESSED, took the
CWEF Regular Working Hunter Circuit Championship in 1997, 1998 and 1999. Last
year, she and SPECTACULAR RULER won the Second Year Green CWEF Circuit
Championship.
This year is shaping up to be another championship one for Hayes, who has
earned Champion and Reserve Champion with her Pre-Green Working Hunter, TRUE
WEST; First Year Green Hunter Champion on board JOY; Pre-Green Champion on ALL
THAT; and in last week's Kilkenny Internationale, she and REGALL took regular
Conformation Hunter Champion here at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club. Look
for Holly Hayes and other contenders as they vie for entrance into the $100,000
WCHR Hunter Spectacular, held this Saturday evening, February 17th at 7PM.
This week's shows highlight three major disciplines: Show Jumping action in the
Ford Florida Classic, Hunters in the WCHR Hunter Spectacular, and Dressage in
the Zada Enterprises, LLC Florida Dressage Classic. The 2001 Cosequin Winter
Equestrian Festival continues Wednesdays through Sundays through March 11th,
