Celebrities At Equus 2002 horse

Celebrity riders will join horse experts for four days of entertainment and enlightenment at Equus 2002 - The Horse Event, which takes place on 4th - 7th April at the ExCel exhibition centre in London's Docklands.

Top riders Lucinda Green, Tim Stockdale, Richard Davison and World Champion eventer Blyth Tait, will hold clinics on eventing, show jumping and dressage in the main arena.

Famous faces may be spotted curing a celebrity polo match and visitors will have a chance to try their hand on Ascot Park Polo Club's special polo simulator. An Indoor Carriage Driving Competition will be held on the first three days of the show, with the 2001 National Champion, Kate Hughes, driving her single pony, Trojan. European Gold Medallist, Georgina Frith will appear on Sunday driving a new four-in-hand pony team. The English vaulting squad will demonstrate gymnastics on horseback with some of Great Britain's top vaulters including current British Male Champion, John McNally.

Specialist horse training will feature throughout the show. Michael Peace will be training the International League for the Protection of Horses' equine ambassador, three year old Bob the Cob, in the main arena on Thursday 4th April. Gary Witheford and Kelly Marks will demonstrate their different techniques on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th April and the Parelli Natural Horsemanship demonstration will be on Sunday 7th.

Other entertainments will include displays of western riding and sidesaddle.

New for 2002 is the Evening Extravaganza, an exhilarating and amusing 2 hour performance with action packed equestrian displays. On Thursday 4th and Friday 5th, the Evening Extravaganza will feature The Hawkmaster Display, combining horses and birds of prey, The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery, Tanya Larrigan and The Mini Marvels® miniature horse display team, Equine Entertainments by John and Charlotte Lassetter and many more. The final performance on Saturday 6th April will feature The Legend of Spain 2002, El Caballo de Espana. - a theatrical spectacular with stunning Spanish and Lusitano stallions. Admittance with evening tickets is from 3pm so there is plenty of time to shop as well!

The shopping area will offer everything for horse and rider on the many interesting stands. You can catch up with the latest ideas and techniques in the Healthy Horse Stable Yard demonstration area.
