SHOW JUMPING - KURTEN BIDS FOR WORLD CUP FINAL
GLORY IN SWEDEN JESSICA KURTEN will be
the sole Irish competitor at the FEI World Cup Show Jumping Final in
Gothenburg, which begins on April 13 and finishes on Easter Monday (April 16).
Currently ranked as the World No.2 female rider, Jessica, from Cullybackey in
Co. Antrim, will carry the Irish flag on her own, following the decision by
Ireland¹s other World Cup qualifying rider, Peter Charles, to pull out of
the Gothenburg Final.
Due to Foot and Mouth restrictions, Charles was stranded in the Netherlands
when the disease broke out there, and was unable to prepare his horses for the
gruelling demands of the Final.
Jessica Kurten (formerly Chesney) is one of just 28 top riders from around the
world who qualified for Gothenburg.
The Final will be televised live on Eurosport at 4.30 p.m., Irish time, on
April 16, and results will be available from the following websites:
