NFU CHEERED BY FARM AID GALA EVENING TO HELP
FARMERS
The NFU has applauded the efforts of those people
who have come together for a gala evening of entertainment to raise funds for
farmers in need.
The evening is taking place at the Royal Albert Hall on 18 April in response to
the Daily Mail's Farm Aid appeal.*
NFU President Ben Gill said: "I am over-whelmed by the generosity of these
people who are giving their time and energy to helping Britain's farmers in
their time of need.
"This just shows how much people care about the plight of farmers."
It will feature celebrities such as Dillie Keane, Robert Powell, the Royal
Ballet and Kit and the Widow, as well as the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
The proceeds from the evening will go to the following rural charities -
the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, the Royal Scottish Agricultural
Benevolent Institution, the ARC Addington Fund, the Rural Stress Information
Network, the Farm Crisis Network and the Samaritans.
Anyone wishing to support this appeal can send a donation to WCABT Farm aid
