Agway to Give Away One Ton
of Feed at HITS Catskills |
SAUGERTIES, NY (May 18, 2001)-Horse Shows In the
Sun, Inc. (HITS), producer of six world class hunter/jumper horse show circuits
nationwide, has announced that Agway is the "HITS Official Feed
Partner" for 2001 HITS Catskills Horse Shows. Agway will participate in a
variety of promotional programs for the six-week summer series, including
giving away one ton of feed. "That's 40 bags," explained Shana
Weiler-Bloomfield, Agway Equine Feed Specialist. "It will be divided
between winners of several of the high-profile classes at the show."
Agway is a farmer's co-operative located in the Northeast. Triple Crown and
Legends feed lines are both sold from Maine to Florida--in the Northeast by
Agway dealers and in the South by Southern States Cooperative dealers. At HITS
Catskills, Agway will have all their horse feed lines available and will be
supplying all the grain to horse show participants who order feed. Ms.
Weiler-Bloomfield plans to feature a different feed every week for the six-week
series and will be giving away samples to exhibitors at the horse shows.
Agway will also introduce several new products at HITS Catskills including an
herbal feed by Triple Crown. "It's the first herbal feed available in the
Northeast," said Ms. Weiler-Bloomfield. "We're also introducing a
product for ponies called Triple Crown Lite which allows people to feed less
grain and avoid making the pony too plump, but still maintain the same vitamins
and minerals the pony would get if he were eating more feed. Triple Crown Lite
is the only Triple Crown feed that is low fat. All the other Triple Crown feeds
are high fat, which is important in the performance horse world."
Ms. Weiler-Bloomfield will visit barns at the show grounds personally during
HITS Catskills to answer feed questions. She holds a BS degree in Animal
Science from Cornell University and has a Masters from Cornell in Agricultural
Engineering, plus she has extensive experience with Agway as a Feed Specialist.
"For Agway, I go from farm to farm and work on feeding programs as well as
troubleshoot. I work with barn and farm managers to create an optimal program
for their operation. If anyone at HITS Catskills wants me to work with them
personally or with the entire barn, I can provide that service, including
feeding trials."

Weiler-Bloomfield at the Agway office, 845-756-3143, or at HITS Catskills, by
