Chancelee & Missy turning the end pole
Could you help Chancelee Flanagan?

Chancelee Flanagan is 16 years old and a member of the Lone Star High School Rodeo Assoc., the East Texas High School Rodeo Team and the Texas High School Region IV Rodeo Assoc. She is the East Texas High School Rodeo Queen and Secretary and competes in Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, and Breakaway Roping.

Chancelee has been involved in rodeos for 6 years now and has owned horses all her life - her father was a former pro Steer Wrestler. She acquired her horse Missy at ten years of age and worked with her father to train her for barrel racing, pole bending and breakaway roping.

Chancelee has been competing with Missy ever since. Chancelee has won numerous awards from rodeo. In '95 winning the MDA High Point Saddle, and the Kilgore Saddle Club high point overall buckle and the East Texas Horse Show Assoc. High Point buckle. In '96 winning the Texas State Challenge Show Champion Barrel Racer and Pole Bender and again in '97 along with the Champion Barrel racer and the Kilgore Saddle Club Youth Council high point buckle. In '98 she won the Top Liner Champion Barrel Racer and Pole Bender. In '99 placed 3rd in Poles and 4th in barrels at the Lone Star High School Rodeo Assoc. Finals.

In April of '99 Missy was attacked by three dogs taking her off work for at least 3 months.Chancelee borrowed her neighbor's horse and started riding her. The combination really hit it off well and started winning almost every rodeo they went to. The pair competed at the International Finals Youth Rodeo in '99, ending up 21st out of 150 contestants in poles and 25th in barrels out of 147 contestants.

It took a little longer than expected for Missy to recover. She finally came back at the beginning of '00 and she came back strong. Chancelee and Missy placed 2nd in poles and 4th in barrels at the Lone Star High Star Rodeo Assoc. Finals and in the top 15 for the year in Barrels, Poles and Goats. At the IFYR in 2000

Chancelee plans on going to college on a four-year rodeo scholarship, majoring in Computer Software or Accounting and looking to become a Computer Software Specialist or an Accountant.

Chancelee aims to make it to the National Finals High School Rodeo and the PRCA National Finals Rodeo and plans on continuing her rodeo dreams for as long as possible.
