Competition

Zipping through the
gate.
Looking for the holes.
Racing round the barrels,
Whipping through the poles.
Oops, I missed that
one.
Falling in the dirt.
Darn barrel's hard today.
Thank goodness I'm not hurt!
Brushing off my jeans,
Grabbing up my hat,
Swinging back in saddle.
I've had enough of that!
Bruising knees, bum
and pride,
You'd think I'd get enough.
But that's the thing about us cowgirls.
-We like our competition tough.
We ride for hours
and hours
Practicing with our horses.
Over and over we go.
Getting familiar with the courses.
We come from different
places,
Riding every color and breed.
But we got one thing in common.
A horse is what we need!
