WORMING AND THE PONY CLUB ‘An opportunity to learn from the experts’ on Friday, June 30th at 2.00pm at the Armathwaite Hall Strongid-P Horse Trials Pfizer, the company behind leading equestrian products such as Vi-Sorbin" and Armathwaite Hall sponsor, Strongid"-P, has introduced a major educational initiative which visitors to Armathwaite will be able to enjoy. The Strongid"-P Five Series, which incorporates interactive technology to stimulate audience participation, is being held at five events this year. The first, which was well received by a packed marquee at each session, was held at Royal Windsor Horse Show (10th-14th May). The show now moves on to the Armathwaite Hall Strongid-P Horse Trials (30th June-2nd July) and from there to other events, including the Royal Dublin Horse Show (9th-13th August) and the Equine Event at the NAC, Stoneleigh (4th-5th November). Those involved with horses will be well aware of the importance of regular worming to maintain the health of their animals. But are they aware of the answers to fundamental questions such as, where do worms come from, do all worms have the same effect and what wormers should be used and when? Armathwaite Hall will host a series of short talks that will tackle these and the other real issues of most concern to horse owners. The sessions will take place in the Strongid"-P Five Series Marquee on Friday 30th June at 2p.m., Saturday, 1st July at 11a.m. and 3p.m. and Sunday, 2nd July at 11a.m. Amongst the guest speakers will be Dr. Chris Proudman, lecturer in equine soft tissue surgery and regular contributor to equine publications from the Philip Leverhulme Large Animal Hospital, Liverpool. Audiences at Armathwaite Hall will also be able to enjoy talks from equestrian personalities such as Karen Dixon. This is a unique opportunity for owners to increase their awareness of worming issues and to develop practical skills for dealing with them. The session at the Armathwaite Hall Strongid-P Horse Trials on Friday, June 30th at 2.00pm will be aimed specifically at Pony Club members, with the technical content presented appropriately for this audience. The interactive nature of the presentation promises to be great fun and it all takes only 25 minutes in total. AND IT’S FREE! As admission to the showground is by ticket only, free tickets for those wanting to attend the Pony Club day need to be requested in advance - please contact Pam Harrison or Rachel Wadge on 01228 561957 or e-mail expo.life@dial.pipex.com Please visit the Armathwaite Hall Horse Trials website for further details |
