20th March 2001 How Reiki helped Isabelle
This is one of the most bizarre cases I have treated, not because of the symptoms being exhibited but the eventual release point for the healing to be fully initiated.
Isabelle is a beautiful TB/Irish Cob of approx. 15.3hh. She is about 9 years old and had been bought from a dealer about 2 years ago. At first she was a very sweet and easy to handle mare. Since being with her present owner there had been a couple of incidents in the field where she had been bullied by another horse. Last summer she had completely "lost it" and the vet diagnosed that in horse terms she had suffered a nervous breakdown. With the aid of sedatives and other medication she had made a partial recovery but was still left with some quite serious behavioural disturbances.

horse The Tiger Horse
Does it have stripes?
Does it roar instead of neigh?
Well no, but the Tiger Horse is certainly worth roaring about! The history of this colorful easy gaited breed is the history of Europe and the New World. These horses carried conquerors and the conquered and carved new empires out all across the world.
Thirty thousand years ago, unknown artists painted their horses, wearing rope halters, in caves in Spain. These horses, members of the huge "proto warmblood" herds which roamed Europe, are the base upon which the Spanish Jennet was built. Over the millennia various infusions of blood from northern climates, the Orient, and North Africa gradually produced horses of smooth gait and great pride. Please cilck here to learn more

horse Training Mythunderstandings -
Loud Bits Destroy Communication

A lot of people think you train horses with equipment. This is one of the biggest MythUnderstandings out there. Try this bit, try that bit. If those don't work, try a thinner bit or one with a longer shank. If those don't work, tie that sucker's head down or crank him in with draw reins.
Most people believe that you should start a horse with a really quiet bit, so-to-speak. Then the further along in the horse's training you go, the bigger the bit you should automatically put in his mouth because it takes a bigger bit for him to understand more. People think that there's a direct relationship between what a horse knows and what kind of bit is in his mouth. What actually happens is that the horse gets used to the bigger and bigger bits. Eventually, you need the bigger bit because the horse is used to the beating he gets with it every day.
You can either treat your horse with respect and use a bit that is only a small part of an entire corridor of aids or you can force the horse to accept its daily workout in a severe bit that is louder than your legs and seat. If you force the horse to accept a bit that shouts, you cut all the other communication lines that you could have developed using your body position and legs.
